Allison attended Oklahoma City University where she studied Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and Theatre dance, and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Dance Management. While attending OCU, she was a member of the American Spirit Dance Company and danced in major productions such as 'Yuletide Magic' put on in conjunction with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra. She also performed nationally in a USO tour, and abroad in the 'International Broadway Review Show,' which took her to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Singapore. Other credits include dancing at the prestigious Flo-Bert Tap Awards in New York City with legends such as Savion Glover, Buster Brown, and Jimmy Slyde.
Allison was the owner/instructor of Dance Inspiration Studio for 24 years, teaching recreational and competitive dance to students of all ages, in multiple genres. Her companies received national recognition winning high point, overall, and choreography awards. Her students have gone on to dance professionally in stage shows, ballet companies, as well as college dance teams and careers as instructors.
Allison is married and a proud mom of 3 boys. With over 25 years of experience, she continues to share her passion of dance with the community as a Teaching Artist for both WhyArts, Inc. and Omaha Performing Arts, and is excited to join the teaching staff of Dance Dynamics. Her mission is to provide students with high-quality dance training in a positive, joyful, and fun environment. She believes dance lessons = life lessons, and strives to help her students grow both physically and emotionally. Through the art of dance, she hopes to inspire her students to embrace their unique inner voice, and feel purpose and pride as they express their personal gifts through movement.
