Vijay is from Lincoln, Nebraska. He has expertise in Tap, Hip Hop, Break, Step, and Bollywood dancing. He began his dance training at the age of eight under the leadership of Bob and Stephanie Chase at Chase Dance. Vijay was granted opportunities to learn from great artists like Gregg Russell (nationally recognized tap dancer) for five years, some of Michael Jackson's back-up dancers, Taylor Swift's lead dancer (Justin Boulet), dancers from the "So You Think You Can Dance?" TV series, dancers from the "Step Up" series movies, and more. Vijay has also taught at multiple dance workshops in various parts of Nebraska. He has experience choreographing for college dance teams, including Creighton University's Jays Dancers and University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Scarlets. In addition, he has judged tryouts for the Scarlets.
Vijay has been on staff at Dance Dynamics since 2012. Vijay is the co-founder, choreographer, and instructor of multiple award winning groups: The “B.O.Y.S.”, “Pra-DA-Geezzz”, and “Rhythm of the Sole”. Vijay has been choreographing competition pieces since 2009 and has received multiple choreography awards. He is active in the dance community and serves as a board member for Nebraska for the Arts. Vijay has a great passion for dance and loves sharing his enthusiasm for it through his teaching.
